Portfolio-first
crypto analysis
Cense enables complex crypto activity to be understood and explained, beginning with the crypto portfolio itself rather than with an individual or legal entity. We approach analysis guided by one central question: what does this crypto portfolio reveal about the nature of the activity, the economic function of the crypto and the financial behaviour behind it?
At Cense, we know that compliance decision-making is your bank’s responsibility. That’s why our Decode process produces a structured, reviewable, auditable analysis with complete coverage of every crypto exchange worldwide. Delivered in your choice of reports [LINK], it enables your compliance team to make fully justified decisions backed by clear, evidenced insights.
How it works:
Complexity, decoded.
Compliance, empowered.

A single, coherent view
We analyse your client crypto portfolios as a single, coherent system: encompassing all self-custody and custodial wallets, all exchanges and platforms, internal and external flows, and the relationship between fiat and crypto over time.
Assessing portfolio activity
The portfolio reveals how crypto is being used, from evidence of long-term holdings and active trading, to operational use, the transiting or routing of funds, and the presence of custody-like behaviour.
Proof of wallet and control
Portfolio analysis requires clarity on ownership and control, so we establish which wallets belong to the same portfolio, which wallets are demonstrably controlled by the same party, and how wallets, exchanges and fiat accounts are connected.
Behaviour, patterns and consistency
Our analysis focuses on client behaviour over time, from the frequency and timing of transactions, to the structuring and distribution of asset holdings, and changes compared to historical patterns of behaviour.
Source of Funds
We reconstruct the Source of Funds across the crypto holder’s entire portfolio, examining where funds entering crypto originate, how fiat inflows relate to crypto inflows, and whether flows are continuous, cyclical or incidental.
Source of Wealth
We take a full, structural view of wealth accumulation, analysing how crypto wealth develops over time, including an assessment of the growth and reduction of balances, the role of market movements, trading or operational activity, and the relationship between crypto holdings and known financial capacity.
Risk context and score
Our analysis of risk context asks: Does the observed portfolio behaviour align with the existing risk profile? And does it confirm, nuance or challenge that profile? The result is substantiated input that enables more informed decision-making.
